Meet the Founder

Black Girl Magic Museum was created by Dominique McKenzie, a passionate entrepreneur who believes in creating the representation that she would like to see.

Co-Founder

Dominique McKenzie

Dominque is an entrepreneur, an innovator, and a visionary. Originally from Gulfport, MS, her family was forced to relocate just south of Atlanta following Hurricane Katrina. Dominque founded Desire N’ Arts (DNA) which is a non profit that teaches leadership, confidence, and self esteem through dance. Following the tragic events that have occurred within the last 2 years, including the deaths of Breonna Taylor and Sandra Bland; Dominque was led to step out on faith and create the Black Girl Magic Museum. She hopes that each guest that tours the museum leaves with a renewed sense of self-worth, an appreciation of their unique name, and confirmation that their melanin is poppin’!
